Getting the first sale is the hardest.
December 26th, 2006
It’s been a few months since I started my first online store selling t-shirts, but till to date, I still have yet to get any sale from it. In my case, the number one problem is getting online traffic to my online store.
Every month there’s less than 1000 page views per month, with such low incoming traffic, it’s just not possible to generate any sales from the online store. So my number priority now is to generate at less 5000 clicks per month to my online store.
Here’s what I gather I will do to help bring in other clicks.
- Advertise at Craigslist.
- Join Groups.
- Start selling on eBay.
- Add my website to my email signature.
- Maybe do a couple of press release.
- Start a blog focusing on SpreadShirt.
- Join forum.
These are the ideas I got, anyone have got better ideas to bring in those sales or clicks? Alright, I will start work on the email signature right now. More posts to come in the coming weeks.

Hi, Paul,
A few ideas for you on your Spreadshirt shop:
1. Find a theme for the shop. What are you trying to express? After that, you can find relevant groups that would be interested in your designs.
2. Add descriptions to your shirts. Tell a story about the designs, and why they are cool or fun. People like to know the story.
3. Give your shop a more custom look. The design should support what you want to get across. You can read about these in the admin section or at an independent site: http://www.spreadsterzone.com/
Hope these help!

Thanks Jana for the tips!
I have been thinking of a few things you said, E.g giving the store a theme, and giving it a better design.
The fact is I haven’t really figure a theme for the store yet. And I’m not really the designer by trade. I guess this will take awhile to get the details sorted out.
Hm… I dun supposed anyone would want to design my store for me for free? Any takers?
