You’ve spent so much money getting yourself the best telecommunications equipment and cables available. You’ve gotten everything set up just the way you want it. Then the unthinkable happens. Something breaks. Why pay to have the equipment replaced when you can have quality professionals repair it? With highly trained specialists that check every piece of equipment they fix, telecom repair services from companies like First Point, Inc., are a better answer to the natural break-down of equipment through use. You don’t have to spend money to replace equipment, just have it repaired by an expert.

In another year or two, Singapore will have his first casino, or rather, Las Vegas Sands will open the new resort in 2009. Honestly speaking, this kind of excite me, imagine the numbers of visitors coming in to Singapore monthly, and with the Formula 1 race confirmed. The Singapore economy definitely look good in the near future. It is estimated online/mobile gambling industry is a multi billions industry, with the most premiere players in US and UK, I wonder when will we get our first online casino, especially with some much money to be made. With that in mind, I did my little online casino reviews.

When you look at it, most people will be able to run their own casino. Just need to register a company in an offshore country, tax free country, spend a couple of thousand on the software and you are ready to start. And if you are the entrepreneur type, you should explore alternative like mobile gambling, etc. Lol, maybe I should explore these options further.

I promise if I ever start one, all Singaporeans get free $100 chips to start. :P

AC Milan are the UEFA Champions League winner! They claim the title by beating Liverpool 2-1. For all you folks who like myself missed the match, here’s the highlights of the three goals scored in the match.

Inzaghi deflected Pirlo’s free kick into goal.

Kaka fed Inzaghi through to slip in their second goal.

Kuyt scored a consolation header goal for Liverpool.

Surely Liverpool can’t be this lucky all the time, even my Man Utd an’t. :P

Even after my post on the Internet Marketing industry, you still want to be millionaire internet marketer, be sure you do these few things right and never make the next few mistakes. Firstly, to be an internet marketer you must be able to write a good copy, if not learn copywriting today, now, right this moment. The fact is that unless you have a copy, you will not be able convince your readers that your products is far more superior compared with the rest in market.

Next design your landing page for conversion. That’s to say that the next click by your reader will probably be the buy button or add to cart button. There is really no point in having tons of traffic or email subscribers if you are not able to convert it to sales. So write a good copy, wrap it nicely in a beautiful designed landing page.

Finally, make it easy to order and pay for the purchases. Once you done all the previous steps, the last item to note is to make sure that you make it really really simple for the readers to buy your items. Make the buy/add to cart/checkout buttons visible, so that the readers can see it instantly, and proceed to checkout.

With all that said, be sure you dun make these mistakes.

  1. Fail to encode your affiliates urls/links. You want to appear to your readers as someone respectable and not someone with a website filled with affiliates links. So you should always encode all your affiliates links.
  2. Fail to automate your delivery of purchases. Once your readers buy something from you, most will expect it to be delivered instantly, especially for e-books. So make it happen. These days, there’s plenty of software to automate the delivery of e-content. Personally, I like Ejunkie quite a lot.
  3. Fail to follow-up constantly. To be a successful internet marketer, if you can’t follow-up closely on your subscribers, you are bound to fail. It is not easy to get a subscriber, so give them quality products and constantly follow-up.
  4. Fail to do your homework. Unless you are just reselling other’s products, you need to do your homework first before you launched your own items. People are getting smarter everyday, reading more. So charm them with your knowledge.

If you did all the above steps, you should be off to a good start, but even with these, there’s no grantee of success at internet marketing. Like most things, you need practice, practice and more practice. (maybe sometime in the future, I will tell you more.)

Before you jump onto the Internet Marketing arena, please read these posts - Internet Marketing in the Public Eye; Part 1 & Part 2. I believe these posts provide a honest opinon on the whole internet marketing industry.

To break it down into small pieces, this is Internet Marketing for you.

  1. Everyone claims to be Guru or discover a secret ‘Get Rich’ formula. Most internet marketers claim to be Master/Guru in Affiliates Sales or Make Money from Online Ads (E.g Google Adsense, etc) Or they will be the directly opposite, E.g. common people who made millions from these programs and want to share their secrets with you. (Cmon!)
  2. Congrats! You Won! Or You Get Something FREE! This is the second thing you can expect, you won something, just key in your email and you can download your free e-book now. Or you get to buy something at a discount price, for a limited time only.
  3. You can certainly find Email Subscription Box (email, name). Next they will try to get you to subscribe to their free newsletter or discount with this email subscription box.
  4. Sometimes you get to see a display Box, Books or CDs. Then some internet marketers will have a nicely done up display box with books and cds in their websites, etc. This way you will think that these are the actual items you are getting.
  5. An Unbelievable / Unresistible Offer. Finally you will get a unresistible offer being offered to you, maybe something like for a limited time period only, you get item a, item b, item c … to z for a one time cost of only $99.
  6. Expect to see ClickBank. Most internet marketers will use clickbank to promote their products or get affiliates to sell their products.

No matter where you go, if someone claims to be a internet marketer, you will definitely one or two of these items in their websites. The next question you might ask is why are these a norm?

Here’s why.

  1. Internet marketers make their money from their email lists. Most internet marketers will work on their email subscribers, and to try to get them to buy from them. Most of these follow-up are taken care by email marketing software already, they just setup the email list, fill it in with the right copy. And blast!
  2. You are almost certainly to get an e-book. Shipping worldwide can be costly, so e-book is the best way to deliver to everyone, anywhere and at zero cost. Plus the cost of production of an e-book is zero, and you can always reproduce it.

So when you look at it, the potential to make good $$$ from it is very good. Consider this, you have 200 email subscribers and any email blast you do, 3% convert to sales, that’s about 6 person. And if your item cost $99 each. You made $594 already for doing nothing but sending out emails! Most of the time, internet marketers will work on their email lists again and again and again.. Lol.. so everyone is a millionaire internet marketer! :P

But here’s something that no one will ever tell you!

More and more people no longer fall for these ‘Get Rich’ secrets ‘ideas’. People reading up more from respectable websites on how to make $$$ online. So now… the question remain is Who else wants to be an Internet Markerter?

Going Solo: A Few Words Of Advice - I am often asked about being a soloist: an independent consultant. “How do you find work?” “Is it difficult to balance all the things you need to do?” “How do you market your services?” I thought I would try to scribble some thoughts that might help would-be soloists in taking the plunge — or avoiding this sort of life altogether.

Making Link Bait and Viral Marketing Work - Two of the most popular buzz words in the online marketing realm right now are link baiting and viral marketing. These two tactics are a great way to build links and to build branding when constrained by small marketing budgets, but there are several things you need to remember when planning these types of campaigns.

My top ten ways to promote yourself on Web 2.0 - People and businesses that will succeed in this brave new world have a lot of work to do to. The old days of putting together a few pages (or a few hundred) of static HTML are so over. The good news is that most of the tools are free for the downloading. All it will take is your time. The bad news is that the time investment is non-trivial. You can’t farm this out to someone to just do it for you.

If you read my blog often, you will find an occasional post or two on topics (e.g. gossips, etc.) which are totally off my focus of web design, internet, technology & blogging. Sometimes you might find a small fine print at the bottom of a post saying that it’s a sponsored post. Well, those are can just some of the titles I wrote for paid blogging services. E.g. PayPerPost or ReviewMe, etc.

The next question you might ask is ‘Are they really going to pay me for my posts?’
The answer is Yes!

But you need to know this.

For Paid Posts.

  1. Minimum Number of Word Required. There is usually a requirement for a minimum number of words required for each paid post, and most of the time it is about 100 words. Sometimes you will find those with 50 words only, my advice is to snip those up quickly, it is fast and simple to write, not much thought process required.
  2. Required Text Links and Anchor Text. This is for SEO purpose mainly. I have to say that if paid posts campaign are done skillfully, paid posts can really get you up the Google Page Rank.
Imagine the case whereby that all the major websites (PR6 and above) all refer to a link on your website, naturally the spider and robot will pick those up, before you know it your website will be indexed more often by Google, and based on users searched results, your websites and pages will be higher up the rating system.
  3. Type of Contents to be Posted. Sometimes, there will be a requirement to talk about a product or services, sometimes it might be a requirement to discussion on a certain topics, etc.
  4. Required Images or Tracking Images. Somtimes, advertisers will require their logo and banners to be placed at a blogger’s website, etc. For advertisers, this will really create awarences. But for readers it’s a bit like SPAM.

As you can see, just to make $5-$10 per articles (usual rate) there’s quite a lot things to be done and thought through. And sometimes, after you wrote all these posts, the advertisers say that the post did not met the requirements stated and not pay up. As you can see, it might not be worthwhile doing paid posts, especially after spending a huge amount of time on it and not get paid.

Moving forward, I will cut down on the paid posts on my blog, I will only take those which has a min payout of$10 per article, so that it will be worthwhile doing. And for someone looking something more affordable, I will posts it in my A Walk In The Flip Side blog.

Now I hope I convince you not to do paid posts, if you looking to improve your SEO, get ext links instead, if you looking to increase awareness, do a YouTube vide, start a blog, etc. There are a lot of ways to do things online, and paid posts might not be rule for everyone.

Cork’d Has Been Acquired - It’s been over a year since Dan Cederholm and Dan Benjamin launched Cork’d, and we have some great news to share: Cork’d has been acquired!

The Real Reasons Big Companies Don’t Link to Their Blogs From Their Corporate Home Pages - Most people still don’t read blogs and so won’t go looking for them if they’re not on the home page. A link to a company blog would invite customers and would-be customers to get to know the company a little better. But…

It Is Not Who You Know, But How You Make Yourself Look - We all know the old adage about success being defined by who you know, know what you know, but in the online world I think it is completely different.

In early April 07, I went for my first reservist training, actually I quite enjoyed it. It is a good break from work, the only thing that bother me is the IPPT test, and that’s because it’s been quite for a while since I last exercised and I hate remedial training. (very embarrassing) This time I got Silver award for my IPPT, the truth is that I have a couple of ’secret’ training methods to keep me in shape. Secret Number One - Use the Bodyrev Perfect Pushup. If you are heavy, as in more than 65 kgs, and if you did not train your arms often, chin-ups will definitely be a problem, so to keep me in shape I do plenty of push up with this gadget.

Secret Number Two - Do plenty of heel raise and leg raise. If you dun keep a ’spare’, sit-up should not be a problem, but just in case, do leg raise after you go for your jog, it helps to burn a couple of min cm off your waist. Heel raise much like tip toe is to make sure you can pass your standing board jump. Do sets of 20 and take a 15 sec break, you should really feel a strain in your legs when doing this, in order for it to be effectively. You are working to looser the legs muscles, and before you got the test, a couple of tuck jumps will help too.

Secret Number Three - Train your mind. The 2.4 km run is one killer station, and most of the time, people failed is because they stop halfway and walk in the run. So it is important that in addition to your regular jogging, you train your mind too. That’s to say that you imagine you are running in your mind, each and every step, see how soon before you loose focus. Do it often enough you should be able to imagine yourself completing the run. Now you have a fit mind to go for the run.

If you keep to this 3 ‘not-a-secret’ secrets regularly, you should be able to pass your IPPT with a Silver at least. Well, that’s how I got mine. But honestly speaking, there’s no shortcut to a health body, you have to train regularly.

If you dropped by about 30 mins ago, you really catch me at a bad time, I am upgrading my WordPress to WordPress 2.2 ‘Getz’.

Getz is named in honor of tenor saxophonist Stan Getz.

Briefly in WordPress 2.2 you can expect:

  1. Better WordPress Widgets Control. It is much easily rearrange and customize areas of your weblog (usually sidebars) with drag-and-drop simplicity. Now you dun need a widget plugin just for widgets, everything is build onto the core codes now.
  2. Full Atom Support. Now the Atom feeds uses the 1.0 standard Atom spec and include is also an implementation of the Atom Publishing API.
  3. New Blogger Importer. Now it is easy to move your blog from the latest Google Blogger’s blogging tool to WordPress, everything get moved over, comments & posts included.
  4. Infinite Comment Stream. You now will always have 20 items on your Edit Comments page when you are deleting all those spam comments. WordPress will load in another set for you in the background.

As for me what I really like about this new WordPress Getz, is that there is No Preview section in the Edit Post page. Now only when I want to see a preview of my post, then I clicked on the preview link.

Any benefits for not showing the preview page? Definitely, especially if you are running Google Adsense on your single page, you wont’ registered unnecessary impression. Expect to see an improvement in your Page CTR and Page eCPM.

Added 10 mins later: The time taken to load the Edit Page is also much, much faster now.

I am a RED DEVIL fan, I have to say I can’t be any happier when Man Utd were crowned Champions of England for the EPL Season 06/07.

Thank God for the Internet. I still can catch glimpse of the crowning the new EPL champions.

This is by far the best YouTube video on the Man Utd title award ceremony and celebrations. But if you prefer to watch it parts. See below.

Part 1. Each player collects their winning medals, and Giggs and Neville lifting the championship trophy.

Part 2. Alex Ferguson’s winning speech and Wayne Roony’s interview, and each player lifting the championship trophy.

Part 3. Vidic’s interview & Solskjaer’s interview, and players walked the Old Trafford stadium to thank the fans.

Great job lads!

#To all you Man Utd fans out there, feel free to do send in your congratulations!

This how-to tip is for all the ladies in the house. (So sue me for being biased. :P)

You need two things, the first item is a spy software, the other is a spy camera. First install the spy software into your husband’s PC & notebook. The software will effectively capture all incoming and outgoing email, chats and instant messages in your husband’s PC or notebook- and IMMEDIATELY forward you an EXACT COPY. (Think of it as Open Communication between the both of you.)

Next you need to find a spot in your house to place the spy camera, so that you can record it down. I can’t be sure if this could be use in court, maybe some lawyer friend out there can comment on it. But effectively now you become a YouTube Director! :P

All that need to be now is to relax, go out shopping (Perhaps couple more LV bags). And when you login the next morning, you will know the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the whole truth.

But honestly, unless if your husband…

Stay up late every night.

Is always on the computer.

Is always complaining that he doesn’t have enough $$$ to spare.

You really should worry at all. :P

If you manage to get your hands on a copy of TODAYonline, you will see this.

This is a map shown the best F1 views in town, briefly there’s a couple of locations where fans can and get up close and personally in the race; mainly there’s the Pandang (20K-25K seats), at the Marina Bay(23k seats) and the Marina Channel (15K-20K seats, this is also where the finish line and pitstop will be)

Personally I would go for those seats at the Marina Channel, I love to caught the action in the pit stop and the F1 babes. (who doesn’t? :P)

For those with wings, here’s another view I googled up for you.

My sources tell me that the first rate will start in August 08, so make yourself available during that period, you won’t want to miss the first race! Even better book a hotel room!

Bug - the movie.

May 13th, 2007

I keep a RSS feed of the newest movie trailers availabe at Apple - Trailers, today one movie really caught my attention - Bug by Lions Gate Entertainment.

Synopsis of the bug movie: The story is about a lonely waitress with a tragic past, Agnes rooms in a run-down motel, living in fear of her abusive, recently paroled ex-husband. But when Agnes begins a tentative romance with Peter, an eccentric, nervous drifter, she starts to feel hopeful again - until the first bugs arrive… into Peter!

Here’s a sneak preview on YouTube.

From the look of things, I guess I will be holding onto my seat throughout the entire movie! Another reason why I will be glued to my seat is because the lovely Ashley Judd will also be in this movie, she’s playing Agnes.

Check out this poster of my ever so lovely Ashley Judd!

She still look as lovely as ever! I Google a bit more on Ashley Judd and the bug movie, and I found this an interesting Ashley Judd interview discussing “Bug”.

With all these reasons I think you must absolutely, positively catch this thriller bug movie when it comes to a cinema near you, if not I dun what else will get you off the Internet! :P

I thought I would share you my Subscriptions on YouTube.

thewinektwo is a Director channel ran by Tony from Canada. His videos are #8 - Most Subscribed (All Time) on YouTube, I guess it’s because it’s super-duper addictive and funny to watch. Here’s a glimpse.

communitychannel is another Director channel ran by Natalie from Australia (i supposed she’s Australian). Her channel is the #40 - Most Subscribed (All Time) on YouTube. Not too bad either.

What I like what about her videos is that the part where she tell a story and act out the various roles in each story, if I could recall correctly, she have been a doctor, a nurse, a teacher, etc. *kinky* :P

And all this are done up in very good details! Plus we get a new video each week! What more can we ask? Did I mention that she look pretty fine too? :P

So, the next question is what’s Your Subscriptions on YouTube?

adBrite dream!

I woke up to a pleasant surprise this morning, I guess I must be doing something right. I never had this much ads to approve before, not until I made some changes to my blog design, structure, codes, etc.

More specifically these ads are from my Affordable Website Review blog. Briefly, here’s some of the changes I made.

  1. Change the blog layout to a 2 columns structure. If I use a one column layout, I will be restricting the information that can be placed in the blog too much. But if I used a three columns blog layouts then there will be too much noise in the blog. So two columns is a good mix, plus if I keep it center aligned, things look more web 2.o :P
  2. Organize your information. Your ultimate goal is to have an unique slot where you can sell text ads, before that could happen, you need to organize your information. Rss feed subscribe buttons are a must and should high up in your blog. Tell something about yourself or your blog to your readers, so a bio is necessary too. Recent posts and archives links will help readers glued to your blog, include those too. All others items are optional, it really depends on the focus of your blog, take mine for example, I will be accepting payment for my review via Paypal so it helps to include a Paypal verified logo in my blog. (it’s true of course!) And I also like my readers to view my website statistics so I included that too.
  3. Limit your advertising options. There’s quite a number of advertising channels available out on the internet, but you really can’t put it all in. Readers are interested in the content, and the ads should complement those contents. Google Adsense are good, I use them too, but just in single page so that the ads are more targeted and focused for my readers. Adbrite is my main advertising channel on the front page, it help me manage and run my ads slots, and by limiting it to just one channel on the main page, it provide a certain element of exclusivity to it.
  4. Tag it and make it SEO friendly. Unless you know a specific url, chances are you are going to search for a few keywords on Google and hope to find something useful. That’s a fact so it pay to tag your blog; in your meta tags, in your ads description; in Technorati, etc. Be sure to tag your blog so that we can find you, if we can’t find you, we can’t buy your ads.

If you follow these few pointers I’m sure you will be able to get at least 50 ads that needs to be reviewed.

Added on 13 May 07: I repeat these pointers in a 10 Questions Interview blog, and the result. (see below) I guess it works for any kind of theme blog! Give it a shot, if I can do it you can too.
