Why I dun blog post frequently, and you should too!
January 2nd, 2007
I have not been posting frequently the past few days, nevertheless I’m getting more visitors to my blog and my page views are also higher than ever before! And I can understand why too.
- I am starting to create value in my blog. These days I posts only when I have something important, or useful I want to keep reference, then I write a post about it. And sometimes these materials which I keep records of are useful to others too. So as more people starts to search, my blog get indexed which is good for me. Or simply as Wisdump put it ‘Eating my Own Dog Food‘.
- More does not mean good. More is not necessary good in blogging. More often when we blogged more, the quality of the posts deteriorated. And I end up losing more visitors instead. Not to mention, it does take quite a bit of time to build up quality posts.
To sum it up, Eric Kintz of VP Global Marketing Strategy & Excellence for Hewlett-Packard put it together nicely in his article ‘Why Blog Post Frequency Does Not Matter Anymore‘ and how the pressure around posting frequency will ultimately become a significant barrier to the maturity of blogging.

Good idea to create blog entries that people might actually find useful. Maybe I will try that. “More does not mean good,” great words of advice, thanks.
