I found this advertise from Apple. The short-film is featuring these people (from beginning to end):
Albert Einstein, Bob Dylan, Martin Luther King, Jr., Richard Branson, John Lennon, R. Buckminster Fuller, Thomas Edison, Muhammad Ali, Ted Turner, Maria Callas, Mahatma Gandhi, Amelia Earhart, Alfred Hitchcock, Martha Graham, Jim Henson (with Kermit the Frog), Frank Lloyd Wright and Pablo Picasso.

It’s honestly the best advertising movie I’ve seen in many years.

Check it out!

Here’s to the crazy ones.
The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers.
The round pegs in the square holes.
The ones who see things differently.
They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo.

You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them.
About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them.
Because they change things.
They push the human race forward.

And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius.

Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world,
-are the ones who do.

Think Different

The site LinuxForums.org, probably one of the largest linux forums on the web is for sale at sitepoint.

According to the salesman the site has over 2 million unique visitors per month and almost 4 million Pageviews per month.

The site do also have a monthly revenue over $20 000, which would make it an estimated CPM of $5.5 (based on 3.6 million pageviews/month). This means that for each 1000 pageviews that they generate they will have an income of $5.5.

With 140,000 members and 250 new members per day + almost 110 000 threads along with 534 000 post, this is one of the largest sales at sitepoint.

So how much do you have to spend to get it? Currently, the highest bid is $360.000, but it will probably increase since the auction has just been around for 5 days.

If you want to bid, heres your chance: http://www.sitepoint.com/marketplace/auction/18394

The largest newspaper in sweden, aftonbladet.se, got their servers totally hacked during the last weeks. The group called “Vuxna arga hackare” which in english would be “Adult angry hackers”. The reason of why Vuxna arga hackare (VAH) hacked aftonbladet is because of a couple of days earlier they hacked one of the biggest TV channels in Sweden, Tv3, and got no attention at all from media. They totally ignored the hacking and because of that, they attacked aftonbladet.

VAH hacked afonbladet and gained control of their whole mail-server and all passwords and usernames to the system, which they then released to public at the swedish forum flashback.se. Ironicly, the IT-security crews had passwords such as “anakin” and a dozen of the publishers had their firstname as password.

They did also hack this same newspaper two years ago and was called “script-kiddies” by the aftonbladet security team which then, of course, had this eaten up this time when they decided to publish the story.

What can we learn from this? Well.. It’s not possible to be totally safe on the net and even though you are dedicated to keep the security up, you are not guaranteed to complete the job.

ps. VAH got inspired of another big swedish hacking-group called AUH(Arga unga hackare), which means Angry youth hackers. I love their names!

December 12th, 2007

The computer science portal, csdir.org, has published another tutorial about hacking.

This tutorial is great for newbies and the newcomers to unix and linux. They also have tutorials about bash and ansi c which I really recommend. Bookmark csdir.org if you are interested in computer science in any aspect since it’s easily the best site to gather resources about computer science, programming, security, unix and everything about it!

Johns blog made about $350 dollars his first month. This month, November 2007, he managed to earn $23450. That’s insane!

He tells us that November is traditionally the best month of making money on the internet. He made about $13000 on private ad sales, $6600 on Affiliate commisions, $4400 on ReviewMe, which I posted earlier about, $2000 from Text-link-ads, which I also posted earlier about. He had about 185 000 unique visitors and his eCPM is crazy.. He makes $84.19 eCPM. $80 for each 1000 pages.. If I made 1/100 of that I would be glad!

He tells us that the key is not to stand still and always try to optimize to get the best revenue.. And I guess I should follow as well to get the same revenue.

Btw.. He don’t get any referers from google since he’s banned from the search engine.. Try achieving an income of $27000 per month without google-referers.. Good luck, have fun

Production != Stumble upon?

November 27th, 2007

Hehe I found a very funny picture (or it’s actually a graph) about productivity and Stumble upon combined.. Everbody knows that Stumble Upon drag your productivity down but still.. It’s such a good and funny plugin to have!

For those who don’t know what stumble upon is, it’s a service that let you choose an area in which you will be served several of very good internet pages. The pages has been stumpled by other users which should prove the quality and you will enjoy the results.

So for the people that have not tried it yet, I suggest you do! And please stumble this as well!

The Windows Server 2008 will be released in eight versions but there are three of them that will support virtualization. Everything should be virtualized: desktop, the server, presentations and the programs.

In almost each sentence Bob Kelly, head director for the Microsoft infrastructure, names the word virtual.

-          - Virtualization is very hyped at the moment, but the truth is that it means high efficiency with low costs, and that is two facts that our clients is demanding.

In the heart of all virtualizations will Microsoft Virtual Machine Manager always be there, one of three parts in the new System Center-family for system administration. You can now jump between different service packs and installations in a real environment without rebooting the virtual machine.

One thing is for sure, virtual servers are here to stay!
